An Andon designed and crafted by Kiyoko Yoda, of of Tokyo, Japan. The subtle hues of this springtime flower were found in Youghiogheny and Uroboros glass. Masterful precision is seen in the andon frame that was executed by Katsuo Yoda.
Photography by Katsuo Yoda.Kazuo Konishi of Yokohama, Japan, began this project by sketching the design based on the iris found in the artist's garden. The glasses chosen to reproduce the garden scene were Oceana, Youghiogheny, and Uroboros. The other sides of the frame are fitted with handmade paper. Kazuo also designed and built the andon frame and photographed the finished project.
